This minor will provide a fundamental
understanding of material science and
engineering basics, and allow students to
be able to identify the major properties of all
classes of industrial and design materials as
well as have working exposure to the newest
classes of materials, including nanomaterials,
biomaterials, and advanced composites.
This minor is suited for anyone in an
industrial design field, but is also applicable
to any art practice. It will especially serve
those working in prototyping, procurement,
or anyone wishing to learn about the latest
achievements in materials creation to stay
ahead of the curve.
