Research

A collection of courses in the history, theory,

and practice of research including traditions

from Design, the Social Sciences, and the

Humanities. Courses introduce students to a

range of methods, research ethics, fieldwork

practices, participatory approaches, and

critical making. The Research Minor allows

you to create a customized research

concentration and an advancing competency

in research appropriate to your educational

interests and fields of study. You will choose

from an expanding suite of research courses

offered through H+S spanning academic

and studio engagements including Research

TDS and Study Away opportunities.

Especially recommended for students

interested in working in design research,

design strategy, and advanced concept

design studios, and students interested in

pursuing certain graduate degrees.
