In Vietnam, people usually say that grandmas have third eyes. Maybe that’s why, ever since I can remember, my grandma has been calling me “hedgehog” at home. She told me that hedgehogs are stubborn yet emotional; they are curious and hyper-aware. Metaphorically, hedgehogs are expressive because of their spiky selves. Though being small, they carry a big personality. But not until I started to observe the world through a more creative lens, did I realize my grandma's intention. Maybe, she believed that like hedgehogs with their nocturnal vision, my unique outlook would hold me a special spot in the creative world.
