There was a small corner in my house that contained an old typewriter, a rusty mechanical film camera, broken glass, and yellowed paper. This corner was jokingly referred to by my mother as the trap area that would never be stolen. In my eyes whenever the typewriter produced uneven handwriting and the camera created noisy, blurry pictures, I was deep in it.

I felt a sense of presence in these imperfections. I discovered that in this world that I had secretly created, there was no right and no wrong. This was a space where perfect unity is not perfect, where the unique and the broken, can be the protagonists. As I now look back on these childhood experiences I can understand how they have informed my studies as a graphic designer. I continue to craft my work with the same passion and sensitivity to details that I first discovered in that original corner many years ago.
