This Mortal Coil

This Mortal Coil are posters created in Narrative Imaging. These posters reflect the music of the artist that we were assigned to. We had to create an (abstract) image that conveyed the overall feeling and atmosphere of our artist and album. This Mortal Coil is a dream pop/art rock musical album — using oil dyes, food coloring, milk, and dish soap, I created this image of a “dream-like” yet somber tone that I felt through the music.
Learning Outcomes:
We were specifically asked to create imagery that did not show specific objects or items to express the tone of the album we were assigned to. I contemplated on many ways how I can express this. Through various trial and errors, I tried many different ways I can capture an abstract picture that would show my album's mood. I believe this helped me grow in terms of critical thinking and how to capture a shot so it communicates an emotion to my viewers.
