Rock In Japan Festival (Ongoing)

My goal for this personal project is to rebrand the overall aesthetic of Rock In Japan Festival. I wanted to bring the idea of edginess of rock and roll through the typography design. This was designed using Photoshop and Illustrator. I was originally inspired by the "Afropunk Festival" design made by the alumni of Art Center, Yuma Naito. I made the animation and edited more after last term's portfolio review. This is still an ongoing personal project.

Learning Outcomes:

I was able to explore and create a variety of original typography. I really enjoyed the process of experimentation of combining small shapes to create a variety of typography. Through this process, I learned that it is important to check the balance between the uniqueness and readability of each letter.
