Vermouth Illustrated Poster

This project involved the creation of a piece of art that was meant to represent someone, or something. Inspired by my mother's love of the ocean, I decided to create a piece honoring 'mother Earth.' This poster was inspired by vintage alcohol posters and artists like Dudovich, and features a dynamic figure jumping into a sky filled with turtles. The type was created to mimic that of a real vintage Vermouth poster.
Learning Outcomes:
Although this is primarily an illustration piece, I believe that the process and learning opportunities are applicable to my practice as a graphic designer. Researching the methods used by illustrators who created the original alcohol posters, for example, helped me to approach the project in a more informed way - just as I research designers that come before me in order to make creative choices in my own work.
