Vinyl Cover Design

This project is designing a contemporary vinyl cover in the style of the historical design movement. Among historical design movements, I chose psychedelic movement and BlackPink, which is a Korean artist band. The use of colors and unique patterns that are characteristic of Psychedelic brought to my attention. I designed reminiscent of a vinyl record using line optical illusion, which is one of the characteristics of psychedelic art.
Learning Outcomes:
I delved into the hippie movement and the way connects the concept with another theme. Also, the presentation experience really helped me improve my presentation skills.

I found my attention drawn to the psychedelic art movement because psychedelic art was very vibrant and stimulating for me. So, I chose psychedelic art and then tried to capture that style in my vinyl cover design. During this project, I created all my sketches by hand because this captures an older style feeling much better. While painting, I used various tools including a brush and a sponge. I usually listen to BLACKPINK songs a lot. While studying psychedelic art, I thought that Blackpink's overall direction and feeling of singing are linked to psychedelic art. Powerful sounds, exciting beats, and intensity remind me of psychedelics.
