Do you see it too?

“Do you see it too?” is an ongoing oil painting series that depicts visual representations of anthropomorphized animals as specific ‘people’ in different situations that I’ve been in. These situations are from personal experiences and represent occurring thoughts that have and may still happen when I’m in those situations. I hope to give the viewer a glimpse of my perspective on what I see and think about in the depicted scenarios, leaving it to the viewer if they understand or not.

“There’s too many sardines in this can…” is based on the metaphor “packed like sardines”; it reminded me very much of my experience when taking public transportation during my time in Hong Kong.

“Sir please, the speed limit is 65…” is an experience and thought that occurs almost daily when having to drive around Los Angeles with slow drivers who are usually oblivious and unaffected by the traffic behind them and road ragers who are majorly affected by the said sloths.

“Respectfully, I would like you to buzz off…” is a more personal experience that comes from social anxiety and the feeling of not belonging.
