I aim to investigate the intersections that exist between Climate Change and Graphic Design. The questions I seek to address are: 1. As graphic designers, how do we cultivate hope in the midst of the climate crisis? 2. What aspects of the branding process can be applied in pursuit of providing solutions to Climate Change? How can we rebrand Climate Change? 3. How can Graphic Designers commit to more sustainable practices as individuals, as a cohort, and as an institution?
Learning Outcomes:
I've brushed up on my knowledge of Climate systems / existing activist frameworks, and am currently in the process of identifying formal methods of visually communicating my thesis. I aim to explore this through the creation digital and analog collages (as these methods are more sustainable from a material standpoint), as well as build upon my new cyanotype practice (I took a seaweed cyanotype workshop this past weekend, and loved it!).
