Ruffin

Ruffin is a multi-functional app meant for dog owners. When taking care of a dog, it comes with a lot of responsibilities. There are daily, monthly, and yearly tasks that you have to keep track of for your furry friend's wellness. With Ruffin — a multi-functional app —dog owners will be able to do a range of things like book appointments, book reservations, keep track of tasks, find dog pals, new locations and more.
Learning Outcomes:
This was the first time I ever fully delved into making an app and designing it. There were many challenges that came with it, such as thinking about the user experience part and learning about designing for others by putting myself in my users' shoes. I thought about ways I can visually translate the identity and the purpose of my app through the design choices I made throughout my app as well (such as color, type choices, overall tone).

Behind my process and why I decided to create Ruffin for dog owners—dog owners are constantly having to keep track of tasks for their dogs, especially when you own multiple it can get hectic. The demand for the dog industry only continues to grow and as a fellow dog owner myself, I wanted to create an app where it would be functional and useful for fellow dog owners.

Here are a few wireframes pulled to show the beginning development process of my app. Generally, I plotted out the most needed functions of my app, such as navigational and tracking tools, and wireframed my vision for how I imagined it would be most personalized and effective for my hypothetical audience.

These were another set of rounds that I did with developing the design. As shown, there were a lot of changes made with the first two pages, ultimately leading for me to choose on how I can most closely tie back my UI with my branding identity.
