Structures of Memory

Structures of Memory is an immersive installation that serves as a physical manifestation of the memory and loss it portrays. The piece recreates the blueprint of the home’s first floor. The viewer is invited to navigate this reconstruction and, through an accompanying sound piece, imagine the impact of Hurricane Wilma. With this, Perez Re is interested in exploring the concept of site specificity, creating a connection to a specific place while moving away from the physical location.
