Lenticular Video: How to Touch (and Be Touched) in Digital Space

Is the digital world simply stream upon stream of spectacle, where once-private experiences such as eating, playing a game, or brushing one’s hair have become fully mediated performances? ASMR streams are an attempt to recover the sense of touch in the digital realm—i.e., to create the experience of a tingling sensation down the back of the neck of the viewer. In this project, I layer multiple takes of "mirrored touch" ASMR from multiple camera angles to create a truly tactile digital.
Learning Outcomes:
By attempting to make digital video feel more tactile, I have developed a new approach to a holographic style of 3D, which I call "lenticular video." While the examples of lenticular video shown in my portfolio are crafted through layering and editing, I am considering both software and hardware approaches to automating lenticular video.
