The Girl In Vase

I created a unique illustrated scene from an Asian folklore tale using Illustrator’s tools. Inspired by the myth of the girl in the vase, I employed a non-realistic, stylized approach with flat graphics, intricate line art, colors, and gradients—all in vector format. Through accessories, backgrounds, and environments from the fable, my artwork vividly conveys the character’s identity.
Learning Outcomes:
Begin with a pencil sketch scanned into Illustrator or directly drawn with the pencil tool in light gray on a template layer. I refined the drawing on a separate layer, using drawing tools like pencil, pen, shapes, and brushes. Afterward, duplicate the drawing layer for backup and apply Live Paint for coloring, organizing elements on separate layers for a structured composition.
