The Perfect Pebble

A children's book I wrote and Illustrated. It was inspired by the joy and wonder of just exploring our world through the eyes of a tiny otter. It's a gentle story, as I was thinking of a personal favorite gentle children's book of mine, Good Night Moon.
Opening spread for the book, I wanted it to give a sense of scale.
The second spread, introducing the tiny otter.
This spread is one I really enjoyed. I loved imagining what it would feel like walking though the grass.
I wanted the tiny otter to make a friend, and what could be a more interesting and fun friend than a yellow ladybug!
At first I thought this spread needed type, but I realized that the joy of finding the perfect pebble was clear with only the tiny otters face.
