Hakone Retreat Före

Hakone Retreat Före is revitalized as a sanctuary settled within the forest, incorporated in its surroundings with perfect harmony. This will open up exposure to international audiences, diversify the brand, and allow collaboration. Hakone Retreat Före’s unique standing as a hybrid between a traditional ryokan with Western mid-century aesthetics is celebrated. The concept of old vs new culture is explored to bring freshness and identity.
Learning Outcomes:
There are diverse opportunities to further incorporate the rich and expansive scenery of Hakone with its natural hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and nearby appearance of Mount Fuji into a design that honors this vibrant atmosphere. To encapsulate Hakone Retreat’s mission of capturing and preserving natural beauty and enhance the experience of guests that have the privilege of experiencing it.
