Project Overview Augmented Humanity explores the implications of artificial organs as consumer products in a near future where 3D printing technology makes them widely accessible. This speculative design project investigates how the commercialization of artificial organs would transform our relationship with our bodies, reshape social dynamics, and blur the boundaries between natural and artificial.
Learning Outcomes:
The project reveals how technological advances that seemingly promise greater biological freedom also introduce new forms of social constraint and inequality. By visualizing this speculative future, Augmented Humanity invites critical reflection on the ethical implications of commodifying body parts and the philosophical questions surrounding human-technology integration.
