Temple Raider - Level
Temple Raider is a level design prototype created in Unreal Engine 5, combining Soulslike gameplay with traversal tension inspired by Tomb Raider. Rather than relying on traditional parkour mechanics, the level emphasizes psychological tension through its environmental design—featuring floating ruins, fragmented bridges, and visually precarious traversal segments that challenge the player's perception of space and danger.
Learning Outcomes:
This project taught me to convey narrative and emotion through terrain and architecture alone—using broken bridges, floating debris, and warped spaces to hint at a world shaped by ancient technology. What's more, Working with a Soulslike controller, I learned to use environmental design to build tension. Visual danger and player uncertainty became key tools for delivering excitement and immersion.
