The Last Emperor

For this poster, I focused on the child version of the last Qing emperor to highlight the irony of his fate. He ascended the throne as a young boy—more fascinated by a minister’s pet cricket than by the empire he inherited. By portraying him at this age, the illustration emphasizes the burdens placed on a child who had little understanding of the immense responsibility imposed on him.
