By simplifying the name of the organization, I was able to design a logo with letterforms that resemble patterns, inspired by Native American clothing. To connect back to nature, which is significantly important to the indigenous people, I chose earthy and soft tones, which is also very approachable and friendly.

The booklet takes you on a journey from introducing Native American symbology, how they were important to the Native Americans, to the disappearing language and culture.

Engawa: A traditional Japanese house has an area called engawa, the so-called edge of the house. Used as a type of veranda, an engawa has the role to connect the inside of the house with the outside. The first six pages, or the engawa of the booklet introduces the topic of Native American symbology.

A powwow is an event where tribes come together to celebrate their heritage through eating, singing and dancing. The letterforms are distorted to capture the energy of the event.
