Alfa Romeo Villanetta

The purpose behind this project was to bring Alfa back into the limelight as it once was in the past. Our objective was to create a concept that would excite prospective customers to invest in this amazing brand.

Process:

For this concept, I knew I had to make a race car, but for what race? That was my big question. So I dove into Alfa Romeo's history and decided to create a vehicle for the DAKAR. A great race that not only communicates sportiness, but has a high demand on the vehicle, higher than the "normal" for a race car. After this, I sketched using multiple media to really push this design in a very artistic way. I knew how. After I created a side view, I rotated the vehicle in orthographic views before modeling it in SUBD Alias. After this, I milled the car out in 10 lb foam, and created a 1/5th scale model. After this, utilizing my model, I created an animation and storyboard to tell the story of this concept, the Villinetta.

Learning Outcomes:

Being able to go from Sketch to complete model + animation in 14 weeks.
