EARTHSEA

This project is based on the first book  of The Earthsea Cycle by Ursula Le Guin (A Wizard of Earthsea). Subverting the conventions of the fantasy genre, the culture and the characters in this series are not western-centric. The people are brown skinned archipelagans, and there seems to be a lot of references to Asian philosophy. 

I found Studio Ghibli's adaptation inadequate in capturing this unique culture, so I wanted to give my own try at it, referencing a lot of Polynesian as well as Southeast Asian art and architecture.
