I created this drawing/painting during my fourth year at UC Irvine. This project was created during the latter part of 2020, when COVID uncertainties were still lingering. I felt stuck at the time, but fell in love with utilizing liquid watercolors from Blick. Using these paints presented such a fluidity and smoothness that I had never experienced before. I decided to create a juxtaposition between my love for the fluidity of the medium and my love for experimenting with layers.
Learning Outcomes:
I also learned how to use the painter's tape method a bit more with this project. Burnishing the edges of the tape really helped a lot, even though the liquid watercolor did bleed through in some instances.
