Céora

Céora is a coastal skincare brand that channels the natural elegance and mystique of the shoreline. Each product is designed to protect and encapsulate both strength and softness, mirroring how shells protect what lies within.

Process:

The Problem: Most skincare brands prioritize either skin health or environmental responsibility, but rarely both. Céora needed a visual identity that communicated its dual commitment to protecting skin and aquatic life, while appealing to active, coastal-lifestyle enthusiasts.

Learning Outcomes:

The Opportunity: The skincare formulas and the packaging design create a distinctive visual language that authentically communicates Céora's commitment to protecting both skin and aquatic life. The process deepened my understanding of how packaging design functions as both a protective container and a storytelling medium. It can embody a brand's values and resonate with its audience all in one.

A tease-and-reveal motion piece for the CE Serum from the Céora Skincare line, designed to build intrigue and anticipation around the product launch. I used dramatic lighting to conceal the product before its reveal, creating a sense of mystery that sets the tone for the brand. This piece is envisioned as the first in a series of product reveals.

Each product mirrors a shell, protecting strength and softness within. I drew from the shell's resilient exterior to create a clean, orderly composition for the Principal Display Panel. A numbered sequence reinforces the order of use, building trust through clarity, while a cyanotype texture conveys the brand's message of aging gracefully.

I developed Céora's visual identity around cyanotype; a photographic process where sunlight transfers images onto paper. This technique mirrors the brand's core philosophy: sunlight both damages skin and fuels the nutrients within their products. By embedding this duality into the packaging, the design authentically communicates Céora's commitment to protecting skin and aquatic life. A marine blue palette reinforces the coastal essence, while the cyanotype aesthetic establishes a distinctive and meaningful visual language.
