Sansal
Sansal┃Healing the stomach and the soul
Project brief: Tastemaking LA, in collaboration with Tama Art University
A communal residential dining experience where household members form healing connections and warmth through a soup cookware set.
Through the cultural comfort food, soup, and the Japanese triangular (三San) eating strategy, diners could slow down and heal (Sal) through the process of communal soup dining, either in an intimate indoor or crowded outdoor setting.
The fusion of the American communal dining experience with the Japanese nutritional clay pot (Donabe) cooking methodology for an urban dining context. Sansal is more than just cookware; it heals the stomach and the soul.
