Yucca Quechquemitl

This textile is a traditional style Mesoamerica garment called a quechquemitl, made from 2 rectangles. This quechquemitl is made from knitted panels that I designed and fabricated. The motifs are inspired by yucca, native to southern California, and a pattern inspired by Tarascan textile fragment in the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City.
