1960-80's historical movement vinyl pop record cover
For the second project for Communication Design 1 class, I made a pop record cover. The cover design was carried out by selecting one of the art movements of the 60s and 80s. I chose electronic music from the new wave art movement, and I chose a band called Kraftwerk that showed the heyday of electronic. Black and white added the feeling of the 60s and 80s, and Kraftwerk was cut to add a mysterious feeling.
Learning Outcomes:
As for me, who was interested in album cover design, I enjoyed this class and conducted a lot of research on art movements in the 60s and 80s. And I've studied a lot about how to express new wave movement, and I think I've seen various record designs for that. They were printed on paper and cut in a fun way, and I black and white to show a vintage kind of mood. Also, I've tried out a lot of layering and compositions.
