Show and Tell is a motion piece to display the alphabet for children, teachers, and students looking for ways to learn, teach, and create the alphabet. The theme of the alphabet letters was playful, bold, and bright. My idea was to create a morphing animation of the alphabet that highlights the characteristics and dynamics of each letter. The flow of influence is items you would find at schools such as blocks and playground leaves.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned how to use the basic 12 principles of animation in after effects. Having to never use the software, it was a tough learning curve to get the hang of how I wanted to move an object. Illustrator is a great way to separate all your layers to animate each block of the alphabet. To give variety and excitement in the motion I used principles such as secondary layered animation, exaggerated arcs, and anticipation. This was a great way for me to learn the fundamentals and how to navigate AE.
