Chillie Box

Students were assigned to design a kit of various items for Grad Package Design 1. This could range from anything the student was interested in. I decided to design a kit meant to hold various frozen items to keep people cool in summer. The box is marketed to families and young adults and uses a penguin mascot, Chillie, to convey messages. Graphics are inspired by cartoons of the 60s, such as Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, and UPA cartoons.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned how engineering and design can be mixed together. I also learned lessons in big ambitions versus plans. For instance, I was originally planning on creating a curve box with multiple layers and infills for items. After learning how impractical this would be and how complicated it would be to apply graphics, the idea was scrapped.
