Patagonia

This a rebrand of the outdoor brand Patagonia. I have been struggling with logo design and since their name is so long, I had the idea of making their name shorter some how, but it seemed as if I was taking away what they had built for over 30 years. My concept is, "Patagonia is the north star for the active, environmental enthusiast . Created, tested, and made to be used over and over". With the logo I have processed week 8, is what I have envisioned for Patagonia.
Learning Outcomes:
So far, I am learning more of the corporate approach in re-designing a significant brand. From color choices, to target audience, and even particular imagery that sits well and allows flow with a new, refreshed take on a brand but not completely losing the feeling of what the original brands tone was.
