Fragments

Fragments symbolize the fragmented memories, signs of protest, and division in society happening in Hong Kong over the past ten years. It also means looking into the “truth” from different angles, connecting the missing pieces, and came to together our own stories as people of Hong Kong. The book has 150 pages in total, printed at Nonstop Printing, and perfect bound was done on my own.
Learning Outcomes:
In this class, I have revisited typesetting, binding methods, and production specs for designing a book, as well as creating a coherent brand through related exhibitions and websites related to the theme of the book. The most challenging part was sequencing–going back on campus and producing actual mockup has helped so much when deciding on space and type sizes on each page. I was also able to express my artistic voice to choose a topic that I would never have attempted outside of this class.
