From three options, I chose LAMAG because it is a long-running local institution with a very inclusive mission. We started with research on our brand as well as their audience, then created attributes to describe both the existing and desired brands. From these, we developed the visual language to tell the story of the brand over a series of deliverables, including the logo. Finally, we synthesized our work into a cohesive and comprehensive style guide.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned about an effective way to bring together very analytical activities like researching an existing brand and strategizing how to accomplish the goals of a rebrand with creative activities like fashioning type, image, and color choice and placement together as a system. In the Transmedia follow-up, I learned how to create a cohesive experience across 3D form, motion, and spatial storytelling.
