Daphne
Daphne was created for a typeface design class which called for a text typeface (legible for body copy). It is a transitional typeface inspired by the classics Baskerville and Times Roman. It adds a touch of playfulness through subtly bowed stems and rounded terminals. It contains both oldstyle and lining figures as well as any punctuation found on a typical keyboard. Common ligatures are also included.
Learning Outcomes:
This was the most detail-oriented and precise project I have ever worked on. I learned so much about the tiny details of typography like counter space, proportions, balance, etc. I learned about how the anatomy of letters adjusts for each glyph and how they need to work as a whole.
