About
Audrey Isabelle Mabanta is a Filipino-American screenwriter, filmmaker, and musician currently based between Los Angeles, Santa Clara, and Angeles City.
Raised in the Bay Area with roots in Angeles City, Pampanga, Audrey Isabelle’s narratives are informed by her cross-cultural experiences built on a foundation of community and compassion. It is within this context that she carves space in her work for the introspective, heart-heavy, and nostalgic.
During her time at ArtCenter she directed “Salamat Nay”, a stop motion documentary in which multiple generations of Filipino women speak openly on their internal struggles throughout their young adulthood. Audrey Isabelle continued to develop different IPs such as the 25min. shorts project, “The Visitors of a Goodbye”, a series of vignettes exploring goodbyes and those that visit us during such tender moments. She also worked on developing a feature project, “The Seeker”, whose world was further explored in the form of a comic visible on her website.
Outside of her own projects, Audrey Isabelle also worked as a Writing Coach at ArtCenter College of Design’s Writing Center for a total of 6 terms. As an Entertainment Design student, she assisted on various productions, mainly composing and producing music for various films including the Student Academy Award Semifinalist and Animation is Film featured short “Boy I’m Scared” (dir. Lindsey Tenaglia), “Dokkaebi” (dir. Sooyeon Bae), “Core Core” (Team Furikake), “First Steal” (dir. Kelly Chen), and more.
