I'm Connie Lu, an aspiring visual development artist and illustrator from Texas, currently based in Pasadena, CA.

I love seeing character designs, but I enjoy putting them into action even more. Being able to illustrate character actions and interactions has always been my favorite part of my artistry, and that aspect of storytelling is why I find animation is so powerful.

Nature and wildlife are huge influences for how I express characters—gestural, organic, and full of life. I'm very fond of animals and the unique movement their forms can express through art. My background in graphic design also shapes my design process today, especially when it comes to ideating and sketching through shapes.

Visual development is the core of what I hope accomplish at a studio, but I'm also particularly interested in prop design, background painting, and character illustration. I'm thrilled to share my work with you, and hope you find something inspirational.
