About Me

My name is Mo and I am an LA native illustration graduate passionate about telling interesting stories. I’m graduating with distinction and have focused on visual development for feature animation while also obtaining my minor in creative writing.

I did not start out initially at ArtCenter and was instead at UC Irvine for classical violin performance for a year before making the transition. It turned out to be the best decision possible for me as I’ve flourished here, although I can’t wait to join an orchestra again once graduated. At ArtCenter, I have had some amazing academic and professional experiences; beginning with a mentorship through Career and Professional Development where I studied under Kimberly Kha learning a bit about Disney Consumer Product, subsequently I interned under Eric Solorzano as the Consumer Product Hardline Intern at NBCU, and rounded out my third summer with an Internship under Jane Jauregui on Pokemon Plush at Jazwares. Working with such amazing teams has only reaffirmed my love for art and desire to push myself.

Outside of fanatically drawing, I like to watch Columbo with my partner and have quiet nights in baking bread together. I get my exercise by roller blading to Porto’s, where I regularly have breakfast and thus invalidate any progress roller blading there made. I love being hands on and will repair furniture, sew a lot of my own clothes, and up-cycle everything I can. Figuring out how to make things has always fascinated me and intersects with my admiration for stop-motion animation. My favorite food is pho and a big glass of Thai tea from my local pho place. I have a little brother who loves the ocean, while I am unfortunately a bit intimidated by the sea and can only be persuaded by the possibility of seeing seals, my favorite animals.

My greatest desire is to keep experiencing the world and making art that is informed both by my imagination and observation of people.
