Be A Trash Hero

For CD2's final project, I was tasked with re-branding an existing organization by creating an identity program (brand logo, statement, storyboard for an animation, and poster). I would choose the international nonprofit Trash Heroes. Trash Heroes organizes local communities to participate in waste cleanup efforts. One of my desired career directions is doing design for environmental protection and sustainability awareness, so this was a good opportunity for a portfolio piece.
Learning Outcomes:
I learned there is a lot of process in re-branding an identity - I would do lots of iterations of typesetting, logo design, and mixtures of the two to find something that worked. Additionally, I learned how important is to establish a "message" first thing in the design process and stick to it (in my case that was activism, empathy, and social awareness). In creating my circles, I applied semiotics (symbol-making) and gave meaning purpose behind my circle forms.
