Beautiful Brutality: A Visual History of Alternative Metal (Book)

"You are the curator and the designer of a hypothetical exhibition. You will develop an identity and visual language which you will apply to the catalog, promotional materials and exhibition space." I chose to study the art and design of alternative metal album art, concert posters, and photography from the 1990s to today, synthesizing them into a 128 page book.
Learning Outcomes:
River's class has been incredibly educational and informative. Every week she brings books to class showcasing how type and image can be used to create something visually powerful. Additionally, she has showed us several methods on how to set justified type, flush left, and how to make rags look professional on a page. Her critiques are always very helpful with deciding everything from how to properly place captions to my overall language (e.g. font choice, image / text placement).
