Boxing Project

This personal project was inspired by my long-standing passion for Muay Thai boxing, which began during my middle school years. I set out to capture the intensity, rhythm, and emotional drive of the sport through a fully animated boxing scene, using the Modjadji and Mazu rigs created by Ramon Arango.

Process:

The process began with detailed storyboarding, where I planned the choreography, character placement, and camera angles. To ground the animation in believable motion, I recorded my own reference footage and used it as the foundation for the characters’ actions and timing.

Next, I selected music that matched the energy and pacing I envisioned, helping guide the flow and emotional beats of the scene. From there, I moved into blocking, focusing on creating clear, dynamic poses that communicated weight, power, and intention. Once the structure was solid, I transitioned into spline, refining the animation to achieve smooth, natural movement.

Throughout the final polish, I paid close attention to secondary actions, subtle movements, weight shifts, and overall timing to bring the fight to life and capture the essence of Muay Thai boxing.
