Clic-Linx is a toy system designed to help kids with autism spectrum disorder learn daily routines. It does this by making learning new skills more approachable by connecting it with play. It consists of three main components: a tactile, snappy magnetic body with customizable sleeves, and interchangeable heads that transform the toy into tools for practicing daily tasks, such as using utensils or brushing teeth.
The design process for Clic-Linx began with exploring how play can support everyday learning. From there, sketches helped define simple and approachable forms. These ideas were tested with physical prototypes to refine scale, grip, and interaction.
This was an exercise in designing for children based on qualitative research guided by experts in the field of pediatric therapy.
