CAMPUP

CAMPUP is a camping lounge chair designed to support closer interaction between people and their dogs in outdoor settings. The project addresses a common spatial gap in camping scenarios where humans and pets sit separately, limiting physical connection and shared comfort.

The chair integrates a dual-level seating system. A primary seat supports the human user with a relaxed posture, while an adjacent elevated platform allows dogs to climb up and rest at a similar height. This reduces strain for both the dog and the owner, especially for small to medium-sized dogs that cannot easily access standard chairs. A set of integrated steps enables independent access, minimizing the need for lifting.

The structure is designed to be foldable and portable, aligning with typical camping constraints. Lightweight yet durable materials such as aluminum framing and coated fabric are considered to balance strength, weather resistance, and packability. The form prioritizes stability on uneven terrain while maintaining a soft, supportive seating experience.

Color and material decisions are informed by both brand context and animal perception. High-contrast tones within the blue and yellow spectrum improve visibility for dogs, while maintaining alignment with outdoor product aesthetics.

CAMPUP reframes outdoor furniture as a shared environment rather than a human-centered object. It explores how design can facilitate interaction, reduce small frictions in daily use, and support emotional connection between users and their pets.
