Stars - Concept piece + character sheets

The following are character designs and explorations from "Stars A Dragon's Tale." As well as an early concept piece I've been developing. 

Process:

Each started as rough sketches from my sketchbook. Before I bring the final versions to finish digitally. Using a watercolor inspired technique that I felt further adds to the dreamy, fantasy aesthetics and overall charm, particularly in the main piece.

The opening concept illustration I did for my story thesis, Stars-a dragon's Tale.
Clare is a stoic and practical knight, she takes her role very seriously and remains uncertain of where her true duties lie, to her kingdom or her relationship with Roman
Roman is a bit of a free spirit. A half- dragon king who is quite optimistic but also has a headstrong personality. He wants to make a world better for both man and dragon.
