Lookism is prejudice or discrimination based on physical appearance and especially physical appearance believed to fall short of societal notions of beauty. Throughout history, men and women alike have been pressured to conform to society’s beauty standards. This book takes the reader on a journey to reveal the great lengths that people would go to modify their appearance to fit into society norms, and questions the irony of a society that celebrates individuality but also tolerates lookism.
