THREADS

Threads is a solo exhibition investigates the oral tradition of the Lecture. The artist is interested in how engaging with the abstract while listening creates unusual ways of thinking and in the history of how knowledge has been disseminated over time via oratory speech. For the artist, when awareness crosses the threshold of curiosity into the imaginative worlds are built, empires destroyed, and new realms discovered.
Learning Outcomes:
Consisting of 13 drawings and a two-channel sound work, the exhibition presents a nebulous maze of data. Central to the presentation is the collection of pen and ink drawings displayed throughout the space cascading on strings. The drawings are revealed once the viewer enters the gallery. Each work, which is 9”x12” was drawn and completed during the span of a lecture. Te sound collage created with partial recordings from the lectures.
