BIOKIT Magazine Design

With Matt Sahlit's guidance, I use Adobe InDesign to design a magazine from its Masthead, Front & Back Cover, and Spread for a client "BIOKIT", a high-end, evolutionary, technological company.
Learning Outcomes:
This is my first time designing for a real-world client. In this valuable experience, I have learned how to concisely communicate with a client as well as being a good listener. Before taking the class, I always thought if I have a great sense of aesthetics I am already a good typographer, however, when doing this project, I have to take consideration of the rules and restrictions from hierarchy to guidelines, which will be really helpful in supporting my further projects on IXD/UI/UX design.
We align the information that our client "BIOKIT" provided to design magazine from masthead, front & back cover and spread.

Masthead Design(R1) | I drew 40 small exploratory sketches focusing on the composition and application.
Masthead Design(R2) - 01 Inspired by IDEO logo.
Masthead Design(R2) - 02 Inspired by Wired magazine.
Masthead Design(R2) - 03 Inspired by high speed technology.
Masthead Design(R3) After critique I find opportunities in combining Masthead Design(R2) - 01 and 02 in creating a modular and numberistic masthead.
Front & Back Cover Design(R1) - 01 | With required materials, we establish a hierarchy of information for client's Front & Back Covers and build Grid in InDesign to organize information in a way that supports the hierarchy that we establish.
