Woodchip Sampler

This project is the packaging and product design for the extension of my line of high-end smoked jerky, and my prototype of a jerky sampler. For this extension, I created a product that offers high quality woodchips. The design for this woodchip sampler includes mycelium trays that have the seeds for the same type of tree of that type of woodchip planted in the base of the tray. As you soak your chips, you being sprouting the seeds, and then plant the fully compostable tray when empty.
Learning Outcomes:
From this project I learned much about how to incorporate my research and interests about the topic or subject of trees into a product that manifests itself in the visual aspects of the design, as well as more experience prototyping packaging. For instance I applied my research about strangler figs to get inspiration for the form and formulate my branding messages on the packaging as well.
