You Are a Good Kid is a small, quiet extension of the main installation- At Last,I See Me. The sentence appears on mirrors inside the restrooms throughout the building, a place that is ordinary, private, and often where people see themselves without performing for anyone else.
The phrase comes from something my therapist once said to me. It stayed with me because it was the first time I felt seen without being judged or asked to be stronger. Placing these words on restroom mirrors lets viewers encounter them in a moment when they are alone, unguarded, and simply facing themselves.
There is no instruction and no expected reaction. Some people may notice it, some may not. The work leaves room for the viewer to have their own reading, or none at all. It is a small reminder that gentleness can enter the most everyday spaces, and that a simple sentence can shift the way we meet our own reflection.
