A Place between Places began last term, where I want to come up with an original
personal story that I have created based on my overall arc journey. I was born with
Auditorial Process Memory Disorder, where my life started out as a “different and feeling invisible,” that I dealt with the very hard reality of being an outsider during my youth. As someone with an invisible
learning disability, I was able to persevere by working hard through trials and tribulations to get to a place where I feel like I can belong.
The core of A Place between Worlds is about finding your voice, identity, and a safe place where you feel like you know where you belong. In addition to A Place between Worlds, it takes an emotional journey of my personal life by creating key moments in the story. Coming up with this personal project, I was
inspired by the Art of Zootopia, where I want to simplify my personal arch journey into an anamorphic world.
I started my personal project in Entertainment Strategies, where I can finally create my first personal project at Art Center.
A Place between Places showcases my overall project in its final stages. I had grown so much in learning in depth of visual development, but I think I had learned that I enjoy bringing characters into a painting, which creates storytelling through acting within my characters for each of the 5 key moments.
I had learn that it is okay to not be perfect and making myself harder to avoid rendering. I tend to render things in my artwork, but I really enjoy coloring within the linework, which I learned from last term.
