Brioche was originally inspired by vernacular designs such as candy wrappers and store signs, and has since evolved into its own typeface. It is a font that is structured but fun, rounded and friendly.
Learning Outcomes:
Developing Brioche has taught me to develop a sharper eye for typography — what makes a characteristic in a letterform distracting and what gives it characteristics that make it distinguished? I am learning the boundaries and how to push them as I develop extra weights for my first typeface.
