Learn Gill Sans!

For my type specimen study, I was assigned Gill Sans. After researching the typeface and its history, I learned about its versatility, widespread use, and wide range of weights. Because it is a humanist sans serif, Gill Sans is very approachable and friendly, even for children. After trying out several different directions and concept variations, I settled on the friendly aspect, and created characters out of the Gill Sans letterforms
Learning Outcomes:
I studied Gill Sans in depth - its history, the key characteristics, and its legibility. I also learned to develop a concept and apply it to different aspects (in this case, the book and poster.)
